It can make it sit unevenly in the chuck, and not spin true, and use the same thickness at each chuck jaw. I hope this helps. The whole design is a good point, but, for me, the most useful idea is to use two extruded alum angles to make the body... I've been hit in the face with a piece of wood that shot off a circular saw, it missed my eye by a centimeter.
